Hello again,

Thank you ALL for such nice comments! I will make sure everyone here sees them.

Bruce,
Those are bags are for dispensing our bio-degradable packing 'peanuts'. After you get your order, throw the peanuts on the garden, water them and watch them dissolve. They are made from potato starch.

By the way, that's Jorge by the sander with a stack of fingerboards.

When are you coming back through again?

Hesh,

We have a new system for filling the inverted pyramid bags that we installed when we moved, about 2 years ago. The bags are filled through a tube straight from the truck using air pressure. No more hoists!

John,
I do remember that set! Cool guitar!

Lance,
This is the guitar you had at ASIA, right?
If so, that was a great sounding guitar!

I bought my first 2 sets of Back and side wood from you guys. It was really nice Palo Escrito. I bought an A grade, and a B grade. I actually liked the B grade better it had a lot of character, and made a fine first acoustic guitar. You guys will hear from me again.

Those chips are also quite tastey if you put plenty of salt on them. Handy for
when you blow all your money on tonewoods and cant afford your next
meal!

Man I'm envious, any chance of opening up an east coast LMI office
I can't imagine shopping on location or the truck I would need to get it all home!
Glad to see ya'll here Chris, I've been a customer for a couple of years & LMI's first class service is one of the reasons I keep coming back.

Funny!

Hey LMI, welcome aboard!

Chris, if you read down this far, ask Natalie if she got her new square, and if it meets her expectations.

Sergemeister, I forgot to let you know, you had thought that I would have to pay a duty on the jig you sent. I was curious, If I mail you something or say LMI or StewMac mail you something from the US, do you guys have like Mail Nazi's or something? I was curious as to how anyone would know what you get in the mail or via UPS or courier delivery? My guys here just deliver the mail, I get stuff in from Canada pretty regular, never run across this "duty" thing. I have mailed stuff to Canada as well from here and nobody says or ask anything. Just trying to figure out how this works

I don't know Mike, all i know is that the last thing i ordered from the US arrived here with custom fees, did you have to pay anything to receive the jig Mike?

Hey Steve,

Got the square...it's beautious. Sorry I missed you calls. Had a sick dog and she's the light of my life. I HAD! to miss a couple days work to take care of her.

As an aside, we have noticed many more packages going to Canada via Canada Post are being held for taxes. It seems the customs officials have recognized that they were missing a big source of revenue...sorry guys!

Sorry to hear about your pet. Is she ok?
Glad the square made it. The cocobolo should darken up in a few weeks / months to look more like the original.
(But you knew that, huh? )

Steve

This is an exciting new addition to the sponsors of OLF. Welcome LMI!!! While I cant imagine that everyone doesnt know LMI, for any new builders LMI is an awesome place to start. Chris and the whole crew at LMI are fantastic and really know their stuff.

I have been dealing with LMI since just before the acquisition of stock from Bill Lewis (many years ago) and still have every pricelist...and even some of the Brazilian Rosewood sets I got for $75.00

One thing that this also shows is that over the years there has been various forums and luthier organizations that for various reasons did not participate in the same groups because of competitive or other somtimes unpleasant reasons. The fact that OLF has been able to work with GAL, ASIA, Stewart MacDonald, Allied and LMI who are all the giants of the luthier world is a great testament to the cooperative environment that Lance and Brock have created in which all organizations are accepted and respected, that all sponsors can find opportunity be they small or large, and that great people can have a voice regardless of whether they are working on their first build or 500th.

As a community of guitar builders and luthiers, we need to support all of the vendors, sponsors and organizations as they provide us with the materials, guidance and encouragement that furthers lutherie and the music created by handmade instruments.

There is no place as inclusive as OLF, no greater a potential market for suppliers as OLF, and no place that is as cool a place to meet and build comraderie with other people who also have a passion or interest in music and building musical instruments as OLF.

In just a couple short years OLF has become "the" place to hang out and now with such killer sponsors who knows where and in what creative directions OLF will grow.
